Topics related to AI?

Hi! I'm working on a college course in Phylosophy and need to come up with some ideas of topics related to AI.
I am totally unfamiliar with this field, so there is WAY too much info out there to sort through. (Especially since I don't know heads from tails to begin to know what is related or not!)
If you had to put together a list of the top 5 or 10 related topics that would generate good applied research projects, what would those topics be?
Once I have a list, I can search those terms, but AI in and of itself is too broad and I don't know where to go with it to narrow my search.
